QUOTE FOR TODAY

Geez anon, you see the worst in things, like the diametric opposite of this invaluable quote. Nothing's really new under the sun - history has always been about repackaging and improving. FYI, I got this quote from a little inspirational flip calendar that we keep on the dining table for my younger sister Patti, a former teacher's aide in day care centers who in now quadriplegic, twenty two years into an unknown degenerative condition. She can't speak or scratch her head, but she has the courage to wake up and smile every day. You take cheap armchair pot shots and don't have the cajones to identify yourself. At least Jim stands behind it when he called Michael what in fact you are here: chickenshit.
you've been duped! by the Norm Mafia and I bet you $19 that you REALLY believe that Jesus is GOD and that he died for your sins... that's a very sad crock of crap!
Actually Anon, Cummings used both upper case and lower at different times. He certainly used lower in most of his books. But what's with the cranky meanness? You seem terribly insecure about your own beliefs to have to ridicule those of others to make your point, which is what exactly? The only "sad crock of crap" I see on this blog, except for my own misfires, come from commenters like you, I'm sorry to say.
I see you've read Sawyer-Lacanno's bio of Cummings, but in fact as I stated above, Cummings used, or allowed to be used, both lower and upper case in different situations, despite that bio's justification for the upper as the poet's preference. Beyond that quibble, I still don't get your point. But Tim, I appreciate yours.

But there is a part of me that can relate to Anon's Scroogism, for there are many days when I feel like I've transitioned seamlessly from being an angry young man to being a grumpy old man. Fortunately, I am blessed with Rilke's observation that "the God wants to know himself in you." and the higher self manages to win the day. However, attacking Art Linkletter's quote I take personally for reasons that should be apparent above, so Anon, tread lightly and if you want to put your money where your mouth is you just let me know and we'll meet out back, bare knuckles only and, even though I'm disabled, I'll give you a valuable lessson in life.

It points up the need for vigilant, unending, 24/7 b.s. busting, on all fronts, left, right, center, up, down on all fronts. But mostly on things like Obama spending 200 million a day on his trip or the "Government is taking over health insurance."
Robert, Bush's deficit was 400 billion, Obama's 1.6 trillion in his first year. US total debt has grown to 14 trillion. Not good. Early indications on Obamacare are it's main revenue generating item, the individual mandate is unconstitutional. Cost overruns were scary before the individual possible disallowance by the courts.
Coupled with his war on business, domestic energy, Obama has been an economic disaster.
