LESSONS OF THE MASTER
When many years ago I was complaining to my friend Hubert Selby Jr. about being caught in a vicious circle, he said, "Michael, dig the circle."
Year ago, when riding my bike along Beverly Boulevard near Jan's (24 hr. favorite cop restaurant) I rode by a guy talking with two people and heard this snatch of conversation: "From the moment you're born to the moment you die, it's all one big circle of sh*t". While I do not personally ascribe to this viewpoint or attitude it came to mind with all this "circle" talk.
Well, there is some literal truth to that in a way Robert, if we take sh*t in the broadest sense of the word as often used to mean most everything. The cycle of life really, in that way.
Needed that tonight.
ReplyDeleteWell, yea, but at some point you need to admit that it is indeed a circle and thus probably static.

It's all a circle bro, may it be unbroken...
ReplyDeleteWhy did it have to be vicious? Make it a virtuous circle. -Mary Poppins
