YET ANOTHER FAVORITE QUOTE
"I should not talk so much about myself if there were anybody else whom I knew so well." —Henry David Thoreau (from Walden)
Dear Michael, I was sitting with the writer-director Floyd Mutrux at Farmers Market one day long ago & he talked about himself for 20 minutes & then he said, "That's enough talk about me, what do you think about my new shoes?" Harry E. Northup
Harry, I guess there can be too much of a good thing. But somehow I feel sitting listening to Thoreau would be a lot easier on the ears and brain, or maybe I mean a lot more stimulating.

ReplyDeleteMichael,
ReplyDeleteI agree 100 per cent. Thoreau, Whitman & Emerson: favored ancestors.
