DON BACHARDY PORTRAIT OF YOURS TRULY
[at his and Christopher Isherwood's home in Santa Monica canyon c.1982 (the glum look is just from holding that pose for hours)]
Wish I knew Bob, and I can't remember exactly, just that in my memory sitting there for hours while he worked it seemed like he was painting, but it was obviously just black and white, though that just may be the photograph that the post is taken from.
Beautiful portrait. That's an honor.
ReplyDeleteSome times Barchardy's portraits have
a haunted look, but not this one.
Harry E. Northup
It certainly was an honor Harry. I am one lucky guy, including having friends and fellow poets lie yourself.
ReplyDeleteJust curious - what is the media he used? Pencil/graphite? Charcoal? Pen & ink?
