Geez Lal -- I'm getting teary-eyed over here. I was at a Stevie Wonder concert at the Oakland Arena on December 8, 1980 when Stevie (very shaken himself) informed all of us that John was dead. He then dedicated the rest of his show to John, but by then a heavy cloud hung above us all.~ Willy
I hear ya willy...I was in a bar in the East Village as thy'd started calling it, after a poetry reading, playing a pinball machine when someone I was competing with, poet Bruce Andrews, came up and told me...I thought he was just trying to get me off my game so he could beat me...but then I noticed the whole bar had gone quiet and realized he was serious...I could almost hear the hearts breaking...
