A LITTLE JAZZ RELIEF

I know I've been posting a lot of links lately. But all of them are worth it, especially this one on the post called A LITTLE SCIENTIFIC/A LOT OF SPIRITUAL RELIEF.

Today's I picked up from the COOLBIRTH blog, which you can check out for yourself. But Alameda Tom was trying to turn us all on to a jazz drummer named Terri Lyne Carrington, a former child prodigy who I guess has been around for years and I didn't notice. But I did after checking out this link to her with a brilliant group led by Stan Getz!

Thanks Lal for directing your audience to my blog and the link to my recent post. I did want to make one observation: In my post I noted that Stan and Terri were trading "eights", but it could also be construed that they were trading "fours." I just depends on the time signature in the staff. Usually I would say they were trading fours, but when I wrote the post, something just made me feel they were couning in twos, which would make it trading eights, right. We've "been there, done that," right. The important point is that the elegant, "insider trading" gets done.

Tnanks again for your endorsment.

Whatever they were trading, it was brilliant, like I said, though it always sounds like fours to me. Thanks for turning me on to it. Keep up the good work brother.

Jazz and Car Jackings-Nothing really about jazz but I wanted to tell the story. Somehow it is nice to have this outlet.

This morning I heard screams, from my wife Loyeen, coming from the driveway. I ran outside and there was a guy in her car attempting to steal it. I opened the door and began pulling him out. He resisted,I slammed the door on his leg, arm and sholder. He than maced me in the eyes. Man, that stings. My nighbor John,a young athletic guy, was walking his dog. He helped me subdue the creep. The police came and took the creep to the hospital. We were lucky he just had mace and not a gun. I am now in my office in Downtown Denver typing with sunglases on. The umemployment numbers came in a little soft and the markets are down a little bit. It doesn't bother me at all.

Jim, Sounds like you're as tough now as when we were kids. Don't know if my heart could take the action, though I've been known to get a little rambunctious still myself. But seriously, you're lucky you weren't shot. Next time just call the cops and if they don't get there in time or catch him eventually, take the insurance money and buy a new car.
