The healthcare reform measures getting most of the attention have been misrepresented in the media and misunderstood, obviously, by a lot of people who would benefit from them but have been frightened and confused by rightwing propagandists who only care about defeating Obama and the Democratic Party not about the health of their fellow citizens.
But today's Huffington Post has a pretty well articulated take on the issues at stake and the politics. Check it out here.

clearly, their entire motive began with a group that said they wanted to see obama fail -
becoming a faction of right wing domestic terrorists that use a news hungry media to proliferate lies, misinformation, and twisted facts ...
they are in fact the 'death squads' of the republican party who will ultimately be responsible for the pain and suffering caused by millions if this health care legislation doesn't gain some positive momentum - and then, when the atrocities begin - just like in the failing economy last year - no one will be around to take responsibility - the media creates an anonymity with opposition - i would like to see each and every one of these protestors include their name with the complaints they're waging - or better yet, sign a petition that factually addresses their complaint so their legacies could hang in the balance for crimes against humanity ...
i would like to see the white house have the opportunity [once a day] to spot-check and refute the lies generated by the media - it is, after all, a new generation of politics and media that the democrats are not taking full advantage of ...
the very nature of what's going on - for future political motives - is undermining the urgency of what needs to be taken care of today ...
and it undermines the 'national will' that once made this country great ...
The Huffington post articles posits among other things, that the right believes that any kind of health care reform would be bad for Republicans, which is not true. Newt Gingrich gave Obama good advice over the weekend. Go for only those things that both the right and the left can agree on. The public is not with the president on the public option which leads to a government take over of health care as is evidenced by the polls, Tea Parties and Town hall meetings. LBJ and George W.’s supposed victories on Medicare are leading to the bankruptcy of the program. The dollar is plunging in value. International markets have no confidence in the ability of the US to manage the huge debt that has been expanded under Obama. Another trillion in deficit due to Obamacare will further erode international confidence and retard any rebound of the economy and employment.
The public option is socialism either immediate or in stages. Any trigger is just the evitable delayed. In a moment of candor even Ted Kennedy admitted that socialism does not work. This exchange between famed conservative Milton Friedman and Ted Kennedy is preserved in the congressional record. "Senator, socialism hasn't worked in 6,000 years of recorded history," explained Friedman. "Why won't you give up on it?"
Kennedy rose to his feet, according to Nuttle, who attended the hearing, and replied: "It hasn't worked in 6,000 years of recorded history because it didn't have me to run it."
Apparently, you think taxpayers should pay for what is in affect a private matter. The fine point of whether it is a matter for the courts or the congress or the electoral college, you also find of little interest. You apparently lack intellectual curiosity. I assume you will delete this also. It is good that in America, liberals/socialist/democrats/communists can not delete opposition ideas, groups townhallers and tea party folks, at least not as of yet.
