Chris Kelly is kind of cute with his amusement over the constitutional presidential requirements. Those requirements are obviously unimportant to Mr. Kelly. Another Huffington Post blogger disagrees with him.
BORN IN THE USA?
HuffPost blogger, college prof: Release birth certificate

Prof. Carol Swain
Carol Swain, a professor of political science and law at Vanderbilt University who blogs for the left-leaning Huffington Post, says President Obama should just release his original long-form birth certificate and have done with the dispute.
"I believe that the president should end the speculation by being transparent about all aspects of his background," Swain said. "In fact, it can be argued that the president belongs to the people and to scholars, biographers and others who are entitled to know every aspect of his past. Only great men can ascend to this height, and their lives should be examined and studied for the lessons they offer."
She told WND she really doesn't see the point in pursuing all sorts of after-the-election challenges to Obama.
Delicious! The Constitution is a document whose freedoms did not apply to black people, enacted by all males, many of whom owned human beings as slaves. Obviously, taking every clause they wrote in their narrow day as immutable gospel is not morally or intellectually defensible. So, WTF were they thinking when they put in the "at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution" stricture? Perhaps they believed in eternal life or some sort of reincarnation to assure the continence of the presidency.
Alameda Tom,
The disenfranchisement of blacks was rectified with subsequent amendments. The presidential requirements as enumerated in the Constitution have not been changed. For that matter, the Tenth Amendment which says all Federal powers not enumerated in the Constitution inure to the states and the people still stands as Constitutional law. Obviously the Democrats proposed Government takeover of health care is a violation as there have been many violations under both political parties. There is a movement afoot to reassert that right of the states. Thirty states plus are in various stages of reasserting those rights.
PS The multiple problems and oversubscription of the "Clunkers for Cars" program is somewhat predictive of what is ahead of us in the attempted Federal takeover of the American health care system.
Tom, totally. Oh by the way, have you noticed how great the "clunkers" program has been for car buyers, manufacturers and salespeople? The buyers saved money, the car manufacturers make money (Ford back showing a profit) and the salespeople too back making money, all of which contributes to growing the economy and we all benefit from getting more polluting cars off the roads. It's a win-win-win-win-win-win- etc. situation. So naturally the rightwingnuts hate it!
Mike,.
Have you noticed how the Clunkers program has been vastly over subcribed with tax payer money. More money for clunkers equals more taxpayers money thrown down a rat hole. It is a typical Democrat party that wastes tax payer, is not sustainable and contributes to the nation deficit. We are 400% over last years debt and increasing. Meanwhile, unemployment continues to grow as the Democrats continue their war on business by increasing the cost of doing business in America while our world competion reduces theirs. No wonder the "Joker's" polling is in the toilet.
I hate to agree w/Jim, but I did hear on NPR the German version of cash for clunkers is only working for some, not all. From what I understand it's very similar here too. The cars that are being brought in are smashed, not resold if usable, so the used car dealers are losing, they are getting no new inventory and they aren't making money because everyone is buying a new car. It doesn't make sense to me why a perfectly serviceable, but older model car, should be scrapped. Why not pass it on at a real discount to a family that can't afford new or used in this economy. Just sayin', it's mostly win win but a few are losing, it's too bad.
Caitlin,
Take heart, there is truth, justice and appreciation of the American way over here on the dark side.
