Dad, concerning the video cropping effect: when you select "embed" on youtube, you can select a smaller version of the video by selecting the 560x340 rectangle at the bottom of the "embed" window. Do this before copying the embed code. I'm not sure this will totally cure the cropping issue, but it should help.
