[Thanks to my friend Ty Granderson Jones for hipping me to another succinct representation of the situation.]

Poor little Barackie had too much to handle. He bet on socialism rather than free enterprize.

Hey if socialism teaches you to spell I'm for it! Since free enterprize is doing you loads of good on that front.

Dear Caitlin,
Thank you for your kind concern for my spelling imparement. I wish there were good prospects for my improvement, but the good Sisters of Charity expended many lessons and ruler strokes to effect spelling excellence. I fear the most that I and readers of my mispelled posts (other than silence) can hope for is, comprehension.

Who is this jim person and why does he troll on this sight...lally, do you know him..is that why he hasn't been 86'ed

Anon,
Yes, he and I went to Catholic school together, K through 12 as they say now. I didn't see him again until I moved back to Jersey decades later and someone talked me into going to a HS reunion.
I do delete him from time to time when his lying gets too out of hand (if I deleted him every time he lied it would be pretty much every comment).
I leave his comments on a lot because he's such a perfect representation of the way the right's dittoheads parrot their masters. And because that represents more than just the Faux News syndrome, he also could be a stand in for Scalia and Alito, two immigrant culture boys who went through Catholic grammar and high schools (usually all boys for the latter as ours was) and were taught by the priests how to thwart reason and logic in order to defend the church's various illogical and unreasonable (as well as shifting [and "sifting" as I originally typed]) positions. It's emblematic of the larger problem as I see it.

Mike,
I did not realize I parroted anything but the Founding Documents and economic history. Way to go, on using the lie word again. Insults are the refuge of the ignorant.

Cait, meant to add a PS up there bout your retort being on target.

FYI: deleting the troll the last few comments just to give us all a rest for a while from the selective "fact" choosing and lying labels ("socialist" Obama etc.). Bad enough we have to put up with it all over the media, where they choose to perpetuate rightwing lies and distortions in the name of "neutrality" (in the case of the major networks) and "balance" (in the case of no-such-thing Faux News et. al.) and allow corporate and individual billionaire money to hide behind phony front group names and propagate even more lies.

If Jim and O'Reilly and Beck and Rush and Rove and numberless others really knew what socialism is, they would know that Obama is N O T a socialist. He is a most conventional American politician, a pragmatist, and very much a centrist, though maybe just the slightest bit left-leaning (progressive). If we on the left actually expected more of him, well that was our mistake.
Mr. Obama was not my first choice for the nomination by the Democratic Party in 2008, but given the reluctance of the Democratic Party and most of the electorate to support anyone any further to the left than Obama, we might have ended up with McCain in the White House, and that would have meant more of Bushevism at its worst.

Shem,
Here is a definition of socialism.

"Socialism is an economic and political theory advocating public or common ownership and cooperative management of the means of production and allocation of resources."en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socialism · Cached page"

I believe the auto takeover, Obamacare various czars etc qualify.

Robert G. Zuckerman said...

There was an auto bailout to save their asses and our country, and by the way, GM and others are making timely repayments of said loans.

Shem The Penman said...

The government did not "take over" the auto industry any more than it did the medical system of the country. And "Obamacare" is another misnomer: the government does not run American medicine. What the so-called health care reform bill did was to require that everyone have/get health insurance. And from whom do we buy insurance? Not from the government. From insurance companies, of course. No socialism there, Jim.

Thanks for reiterating and clarifying Shem. I can hear Jim's wheel's spinning, trying to find a way to negate these irrefutable facts, which is the unfortunate nature of agenda driven opPosers.
