HAPPY B'DAY JON HENDRICKS
It's past midnight, so his actual birthday was technically yesterday, though it's still Friday night to me, the day Jon Hendricks turned 90!
I found out while listening to NPR's "All Things Considered" on the car radio, where I heard this excellent tribute. Check it out here.

Lal--Thanks a ton for posting this tribute to Dave Lambert. Your readers will love the videos. And there's an audio at
abmp3.com
of Lambert, Hendricks, and Ross doing "Jumpin' At The Woodside," with Count Basie and his orchestra, from 1958. Enjoy.
Bob B.
Bob, you neat [meant to write "mean" but another instance of my still changed post-op brain], of course, Jon Hendricks, though the photo I posted makes him look a little more like Lambert did back before he died too early (he was already older than Henricks and Ross).
Dang Lal. I got only one thing to say, and that is:
I heard me a sermonette Have you heard it yet?
With that soulful message that you won't soon forget
It tells about real true love people lost sight of
through their sinful livin' and scornin' Heaven above
It tells you to love one another, To feel that each man's your brother
Live right, 'cause you know that you reap (just) what you sow
And so to have no regrets, and to find what you're missin,
Bow your head and listen to this sermonette
Lal--You are soooooo right. I blew it. Maybe the worst senior moment I've had this year. I do apologize to you and to all your readers. Anyway, their music is still BOSS and always will be and still knocks me out. Bob B.
No sweat Bob, and Tom, nice quotin' brother.
