TWO YEARS
Just a quick addition to today's posts. This day, November 13th, two years ago, I had brain surgery. To have lived in any time before the last ten years or so, would mean that I wouldn't be writing this. Not only would I not be able to, I'd probably not even be around to do it. So I am eternally (or as much as I have left of it) grateful.

Michael, I can emphasize with the gratitude you feel.
It is quite remarkable what you, and Athena, have gone through. You both have extreme courage.

I remember the day well, when dawn that Friday morning at Ocean and Montana in Santa Monica corresponded with your appointed decision.
At that time, having recently been through it with my own Father's challenges, I understood the courage of consent.
Our gratitude continues with every phone call, laugh, lunch, blog posting, poem, and reading that have come since.
"Eternally" goes a long way with friends, progeny, love, and art like yours Michael.
Live well ...
Thanks to both of you for the kind words. I don't think it took courage on my part, though, to submit to doctors I had faith in. But the experience certainly helped me understand others I maybe hadn't before. I'm grateful for that too.
So good to hear that you are well. It's amazing what we learn about ourselves and others if we live long enough. Good luck to many more years with those you love.
me too
t'anks.
Michael,
Thank you for continuing to inspire and edify us. Keep on going!

It's just embarassing how often I need to be reminded about the principle of gratitude.
Continue to stick around. Wouldn't be the same without you, my longtime friend.

Vice versa, only double (to all).
Dear M:
Your presence, along with your brain, is essential to me (and many others), so I am very grateful too about the last 2 years.
